Drops in Demand Impact Airbus Production Outlook, Car Sales in China

Airbus said it will be cutting production of its A350 jetliner in 2015 and 2016 due to drops in demand. The company expects the move to negatively impact sales and profits. However, it may introduce a new upgraded A330neo plane in 2017.

November new car sale growth in China was the weakest it has been in nearly 2 years, rising just 4.7%. Slow economic growth in China is having an impact on demand for new passenger vehicles.

Four companies received a green light from the Federal Aviation Administration to use commercial drones for various tasks. Trimble Navigation Limited, VDOS Global, Clayco Inc. and Woolpert Inc. will use the drones to monitor construction sites, conduct aerial surveys and inspect oil flare stacks.

IBM and Apple released the first apps created through its partnership today. IBM’s MobileFirst apps for iOS include those made for Air Canada, Sprint, Cit and other companies and help with such things as flight planning, financials and sales assistance.
