Repsol Buys Talisman, Amazon Extends Holiday Delivery Deadline

Repsol announced today it will be buying Canadian oil and natural gas producer Talisman Energy. The news comes a day after the Spanish energy company said it was discussing the deal, which totals $8.3 billion.

Good news for last-minute holiday shoppers: Amazon has extended its deadline for deliveries. Shoppers now have until 11:59 p.m. on Friday to place a free-shipping order on the online store in order to receive the package by Christmas.

Low gasoline prices are encouraging an increase in holiday travel this year. AAA expects this holiday season to be the busiest on record in the US, with about 99 million Americans traveling more than 50 miles by car or air.

Apple Pay continues to gain traction. A number of new retail stores, banks and other companies have signed up to use the mobile payment system. Commerce Bank, Staples and  Albertsons are some such companies.
