Holiday Season Retail Sales Grow, Black Friday (Round 2) Deals

Retail sales during this year’s holiday season grew 5.5% from last year, according to a new report from MasterCard Advisors. There was specifically strong demand for jewelry and women’s clothing this shopping season.

Another report from the International Council of Shopping Centers said this holiday shopping season was the best for retailers in 3 years. An improving economy likely boosted consumer confidence and increased holiday spending.

Today could become another Black Friday. Analysts say the day after Christmas and the weekend will likely prove to be a successful three-day period for retailers.

If you are headed out today to score some of the best sales, apparel, electronics, outerwear and holiday decorations are some of the products that will have the biggest discounts.
