COIs Plan Increase In Network Security Spending, IBM Shares Sink

The majority of COIs in North America plan to boost company spending on network security this year, a recent survey found. Security continues to be the No. 1 priority for IT due to a rise in network breaches.

IBM plans to shift focus to cyber security, cloud computing and big data after reporting a dip in revenues for the 11th consecutive quarter. IBM shares sank 12% in the fourth quarter.

An increasing US dollar is putting added pressure on domestic manufacturers. A stronger dollar makes US-made products more expensive for other countries.

Toyota’s sales rose 3% in 2014, making it the world’s top selling automaker for the third straight year. The carmaker saw a record number of SUV deliveries last year as well.
