AT&T Buys Wireless Assets in Mexico, British Airways Looks to Acquire Irish Airline Aer Lingus

AT&T is continuing to expand its footprint south of the US border. The wireless carrier bought NII Holdings Inc.’s Mexican mobile-phone assets for $1.875 billion.

In other M&A news, the parent company of British Airways, International Consolidated Airlines Group, is looking to buy Irish carrier Aer Lingus.

Third-party management software provider Hiperos reported a 101% increase in annual contract revenues and other positive data in its 2014 financial results today. Hiperos CEO Greg Dickinson said the company’s success is a response to the increased need for firms to protect against third-party risks like data breaches.

Unlike other mobile payment services, Apple’s Apple Pay is apparently encouraging consumers to actually use it, reports say. Customers say it is safer than swiping a debit or credit card.
