Wholesale Inventories Rise, Small Business Are Becoming More Optimistic

US wholesale inventories increased 0.3% in January – more than some economists forecasted. However, sales at wholesalers fell 3.1% in the same month, representing the largest drop since 2009.

Optimism is up among small businesses. The National Federation of Independent Business’ small-business optimism index rose 0.1 points to 98 in February – the third-highest level since early 2007.

Apple is aiming to push sales of its new watch in China. Apple has taken steps to specifically target Chinese consumers, like offering the watch in gold to appeal to the country’s “appetite for luxury.”

Plane manufacturers want to stop transporting bulk shipments of lithium batteries aboard passenger flights, sighting an “unacceptable risk” due the threat the batteries may cause fires.
