Afternoon Coffee: New Supply Management Awards Announced, BravoSolution Releases 2016 Results

Two organizations have joined forces to bring procurement the first annual CIPS Supply Management Awards Europe. The awards will benchmark excellence within supply chain and procurement and recognize the work of both organisations and individuals. Sample categories include best contribution to CSR, best supplier relationship management, most innovative use of technology and procurement and supply chain management professional of the year.

BravoSolution Releases 2016 Results

Adding 119 new customers and recording its sixteenth year of revenue growth were among the accomplishments BravoSolution listed in a recent press release detailing its 2016 results. The company reported €85 million in revenue for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2016.

“In today’s digital marketplace, procurement leaders are under immense pressure to leverage analytics and technology to uncover hidden savings, strengthen supplier relationships and drive top- and bottom-line value,” said Jim Wetekamp, CEO of BravoSolution. “Procurement’s ability to drive this type of competitive advantage stems from being able to uncover and share actionable intelligence with the rest of the organization.”

Coupa Lands Caterpillar

Spend management provider Coupa has been chosen by Caterpillar to support P2P efforts, according to a press release. The global equipment manufacturer in particular was searching for a solution that offered global invoicing compliance.

Eurozone Economy Picks Up

And finally, IHS Markit’s Purchasing Mangers Index rose to 56.0 in February from 54.3 in January, its highest level since April 2011. As the Wall Street Journal reported, the jump surprised economists, with Germany and France recording significant pickups during the month.
