Afternoon Coffee: Boeing Nears Parts Deal with Spirit, MBO Partners Announces API Integration with SAP Fieldglass

Boeing is close to establishing a deal for parts from Spirit AeroSystems that the aerospace manufacturer believes will deliver long-term savings, the Wall Street Journal reports. Spirit would gain certainty of its relationship with Boeing through 2022 in exchange for concessions that would improve Boeing’s margins.

MBO Integration

MBO Partners announced Tuesday it has completed a beta stage of a new API integration with SAP Fieldglass, the company said in a press release. The integration “enables enterprises to engage in direct sourcing without leaving their own VMS.”

Tesla Results

Electric vehicle maker Tesla lost less money than analysts expected in the second quarter, boosting the Elon Musk-led auto maker’s shares over 5% in afterhours trading Wednesday. Although concerns about Tesla’s ability to produce enough vehicles have weighed on the company for months, the strong demand and positive reception for the “mass-market” Model 3 have allayed those worries for now.

Diesel Prices

And finally, a commodities update: Diesel prices are steadily climbing, Logistics Management reports, up 2.4 cents this week, to $2.531 per gallon, and up 6.6 cents over the last five weeks.
