Afternoon Coffee: How a NAFTA Repeal Would Affect Auto Jobs, Coupa Partners with Software AG on ERP Integration

As the fate of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) hangs in the balance, the U.S. auto parts industry stands to lose up to 50,000 jobs should the trade pact be repealed, according to Reuters. Ending NAFTA would result in a reversion to World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, which would force many auto parts companies to pay higher tariffs.

Coupa Partnership

Spend management provider Coupa announced Friday it is partnering with Software AG to speed up and simplify Coupa’s integration with leading ERP systems, according to a press release. Coupa is expanding its CoupaLink certified solutions by adding Software AG’s webMethods Connector as part of the partnership.

Genesys Releases PREDICTe Suite

Talent acquisition technology provider Genesys Talent announced Thursday it had released a feature suite called PREDICTe. According to a press release, “PREDICTe is a suite of product features designed to apply AI to improve the employment experience using predictive technology.”

China Numbers

And finally, an economic update: China’s exports grew 8.1% in September from a year ago, the Wall Street Journal reports, its seventh straight monthly gain. The continued increase in exports has bolstered China’s economic growth in the first half of 2017 more than analysts had forecast.
