
Industry analysts say the United States has an uphill climb as it goes about creating its own electric vehicle supply chain. One of the reasons is a question over the exact extent of the country’s metal reserves, and only a few facilities to process minerals and produce batteries.
Air cargo grows for first time in 4 months
IATA reports that air cargo volumes in March registered a marginal uptick (0.1%) as compared to the same period a year earlier. This is the first month of growth after four months of flat or negative volume change. Capacity grew by 3%. Capacity growth has outpaced demand for 11 of the past 12 months, according to IATA.
Fraxion launches spend management cloud solution
Seattle-based Fraxion, a cloud-based procure-to-pay solution for business spend management, will launch today in North America. This comes after its merger with U.S.-based e-procurement software suite company eRequester.
Stanton Jandrell, co-founder and CEO of Fraxion, said in a written statement, “Our vision is to simplify spend control globally, shifting spend management to spend enablement by offering a cost-effective, comprehensive platform to mid-market companies.”
SourceDay adds two industry heavies to management team
Supply chain SaaS solution provider SourceDay announced it had added two seasoned executives to its leadership team, one of them from Spredfast.
Sarah Moore has joined the company as its new Chief Marketing Officer, while former NSS Labs and Ping Identity executive Emeka Obianwu is in the new Senior Vice President, Alliances and Channel role.
Supply chain and logistics hub launched to help students
Northern Kentucky University, in partnership with the Tri-State Logistics Council (TLC) has launched the Supply Chain and Logistics Hub. This is a place where university students can apply for internship and job opportunities even as they go about getting their degree.
