Now, in a partnership with Relex, the Vitamin Shoppe is adopting an integrated supply chain strategy, with the goal of improving demand-forecast accuracy. It will use these reports to optimize store and distribution center replenishment and allocations.

Elanco Animal Health will buy Bayer’s veterinary drugs unit in a cash and stock deal valued at $7.6 billion. This will not only expand Elanco's reach but will also create the second-largest animal health business, reports Reuters.

DHL supply chain to handle logistics for Avanos Medical U.S. distribution network

DHL Supply Chain will look after logistics management responsibilities for medical device company Avanos Medical’s U.S. distribution network.

Accenture acquires UK-based Parker Fitzgerald

Accenture has confirmed its acquisition of strategic advisor and consulting partner to global financial organizations, Parker Fitzgerald. Accenture said the move was to develop the business and technology capabilities within its Finance and Risk practice. Accenture works with clients across a diverse range of industries, including procurement and supply chain.

That's because companies are under pressure from several parties — governments, consumers, NGOs, and other stakeholders — all of whom want them to divulge more information about their supply chains, according to a Harvard Business Review paper.
