All car brands to be retained by merged PSA and Fiat

The would-be chief executive of the merged entity, Carlos Tavares, has said in a TV interview that Peugeot maker PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler will retain all of their car brands if their planned $50 billion merger goes ahead. PSA CEO Tavares said the companies complemented each other well geographically and in terms of technology and brands, reports Reuters.

FCA derives 66 % of its revenue from North America compared with only 5.7% for PSA, Refinitiv Eikon data shows. Europe remains the main revenue driver for PSA.

GE subsidiary orders 25 Airbus jets

GECAS, the aircraft leasing subsidiary of General Electric, has ordered 25 Airbus aircraft. Reuters said in a report quoting two unnamed sources that the order included a rare purchase of jets powered by GE’s rival engine maker Rolls-Royce.

California's third-largest port exports up for October

While container traffic at almost all ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach was down, Oakland, California's ocean cargo gateway has reported some positive news. Port of Oakland exports went up 10.8% last month compared to October 2018 volumes, according to data released today cited by Logistics Management.

“Our export customers have demonstrated their resilience throughout this tariff standoff,” said Port of Oakland Maritime Director John Driscoll.  “For their sake, we hope the conflict is resolved and overseas business can grow even more.”
