Coupa App Marketplace analysis: Creating a platform ecosystem for procurement, finance and supply chain

Coupa has the potential to be the first provider in the procurement technology sector to commercialize a platform “application marketplace” and make it central to the value proposition it delivers in the market. While not the first to introduce such a capability in procurement and related markets, no other vendor has yet changed the basis of competition within the core markets in which Coupa competes via an app marketplace model.

Today, the Coupa App Marketplace is launching with 70 pre-built and certified applications. Coupa shared with Spend Matters that it has an additional backlog of more than 20 partners currently waiting to complete the certification steps, and new partners applying every week.
