This week’s latest from PSF:

Strategies and tech to increase employee engagement and mental health

While traditional methods of employee engagement are important, technology has a critical role to play, especially cutting-edge tools built specifically to address employee engagement, motivation and mental health now that more and more people are working in a hybrid manner.

Keeping staff motivated and happy in virtual environments is a challenge for companies of all sizes, as well as for government agencies. So this virtual event “How Emerging Tech is Helping with Employee Engagement & Mental Health” will explain what these technologies are and how your organization or agency can apply them to drive highly engaged and highly motivated teams.

You will hear from three venture-backed companies that have turned employee engagement on its head and built innovative tools to drive high employee engagement, better mental health and more successful organizations.

Data & tech helping local government create an equitable & sustainable future

In San Francisco Bay Area, nearly 8 billion people live, work and travel. In order to gauge the residents’ priorities, and to bring members of the public into the conversation, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments teamed up with co:census to gather data from their constituents, with the goal of providing a more equitable and sustainable future for all residents. They focused on key issues such as the economy, the environment, housing and transportation.

Some of the results showed:

  • Economy — most respondents selected free internet for the under-served and building office and retail spaces near transit.
  • Environment — respondents prioritized protecting communities most at-risk and establishing carpool and bike-share programs.
  • Transportation — respondents prioritized reducing freeway interchanges and bottlenecks, building safer streets, and enhancing public transit.

Read more about the plan here, and what they expect to do going forward.
