Release note, S2P SolutionMap Fall 2021: Source-to-Pay suites

This Spend Matters SolutionMap Insider release note provides insight into the SolutionMap Fall 2021 release for the Source-to-Pay suite category, reviewing the process that we followed for this update.

This release contains the second major revamp since SolutionMap’s 2017 launch, and it includes new “market personas,” updated technology categories and a more focused RFI.

The latest RFI contains new questions that account for recent innovations and updates to other questions that better reflect which capabilities are "industry standards" versus "best-in-class.”

The providers in the Fall 2021 Source-to-Pay SolutionMap include Coupa, Corcentric Platform, GEP, Ivalua, Jaggaer ONE (Direct and Standard) and SAP Ariba.

All of the S2P providers were required to participate in SolutionMap for each underlying module, as well. These individual areas of S2P include Sourcing, Spend and Procurement Analytics, Supplier Relationship Management & Risk, Contract Lifecycle Management, E-Procurement and AP Automation/Invoice-to-Pay. All of these providers are also included in the individual Source-to-Contract (S2C) (previously Strategic Procurement Technologies) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) suite views.

This cycle saw the creation of the Risk Persona under the Supplier Relationship Management & Risk category and the Direct and Optimization personas under the Sourcing category.

The Source-to-Pay customer data set is composed of a subset of the 865 individual organization references included in the overall SolutionMap scoring as of Fall 2021*. Customer references from Q3 and Q4 2018 expired after 2½ years of use.

*Customers using more than one module that a vendor provides can opt to fill out a single survey (e.g., a customer using two modules for P2P and four modules for S2C would need to fill out only one survey).
