Workday acquires VNDLY (Part 2): M&A rapid analysis of Workday, competitors and investor activity
11/23/2021
Last week, Workday announced it was acquiring VNDLY, a services procurement technology provider focused on managing services spend and the extended workforce (including staffing firms, freelancers/gig workers and entity-level MSA/SOW relationships). In Spend Matters’ initial coverage of the transaction, we did a comparative level-set on VNDLY’s capabilities and what these will bring to Workday and its customers — including analysis compared to Beeline, Coupa (its acquired DCR Workforce solution) and SAP Fieldglass.
Today we continue our coverage with analysis focused on the impact of the transaction for Workday (and its immediate ecosystem) and competitors, including both the large ERPs, source-to-pay providers and mega SaaS firms (e.g., ServiceNow). Finally, we provide insight from an investor perspective on the transaction.
Let’s dive in.
