04/13/2022 By

Amazon Business held its 2022 digital procurement event, Amazon Business Reshape, on March 10th. Viewers got a sense of the benefits of Amazon Business procurement strategies via big-name customer speakers that attested to Amazon Business’s effect on their organizational business spend. Speakers included international representatives from Union Pacific Railroad, Kuwait Petroleum International, Link Group, and other large companies

The setup of the event included three tracks tailored to the interests of the viewers: Think Big – targeting business strategies that increase value driven back to the organization, Invent and Simplify – focusing on innovations trends in the procurement space, and Product Sessions – introducing Amazon Business’s new features. Amazon Business and guest representatives discussed insights on emerging procurement trends, or as Amazon calls it, new pillars in procurement.

Representatives from Amazon Business called for change in the broader procurement space:

“If procurement is to lead the way, organizations must reimagine the rigid models that ensure strong controls and spend management that have been at the center of procurement strategy for many decades,” said Florian Böhme, Director of Amazon Business in Germany. One point reiterated throughout the event was that organizations are rethinking the way they manage spend due to recent worldwide events and crises that brought visibility to gaps in the procurement space.
