This Spend Matters Vendor Analysis updates our coverage of Basware and its procure-to-pay (P2P) solution. Basware is a long-standing veteran in the accounts payable (AP) space and has built its reputation as one of its largest providers. We have covered Basware various times in the last few years. Since we last examined Basware in 2019, a number of changes and enhancements have been made, including M&As that built its enterprise scale. For example, Basware’s recent acquisition of Glantus highlighted its interest in pushing beyond AP into profit recovery and adjacent P2P areas.

Basware has been included in every iteration of Spend Matter’s 50 to Know, a list recognizing best-in-class vendors in procurement. This is a testament to Basware’s long-standing presence in the P2P market and its ability to evolve and keep pace as the technology evolves.

Part 1 of this update provides a detailed overview of each module and includes an analyst summary. Part 2 provides more details on the strengths and opportunities of the solution, a review of the competitive landscape and selection tips.

Here’s why we think that Basware Matters:

To the market — Basware is a well-established company that provides a complete P2P solution, including one of the biggest B2B commerce networks and a mature AP automation solution for e-invoicing processing.

To potential buyers — Basware's solution outperforms the benchmark in most P2P requirements in SolutionMap, standing out in particular as one of the most advanced providers for e-invoicing processing in AP automation for large organizations.
