Going all the way back to the philosopher Heraclitus, the only constant has been change, a fact that has only intensified in recent years with global events and technological innovations. However, even though the seminal works on corporate change management are almost two decades old, many organizations fail to navigate change due to the same reasons over and over again.
Here we look at Why change is difficult: the current state of things (State 1) and what the transformed state could be (State 2), and the two types of influence that hinder a clear assessment of these two states. We look at How to work through change: the importance of change management. The characteristics of procurement organizations that succeed with change management programs and the cost of change management failure.
