This Spend Matters Vendor Analysis provides an overview of MeRLIN and its source-to-pay (S2P) solution.

MeRLIN is an integrated solution for managing direct and indirect spend. It offers capabilities for supplier relationship management, sourcing, CLM, eProcurement, purchasing and analytics.

Despite being fairly new, the functional coverage of the solution is impressive, especially considering its direct-materials-related capabilities. Modules of the solution cover most of the source-to-contract capabilities (S2C), and while the solution does not cover every element, e.g., supplier risk, it does take the ‘ecosystem’ approach by integrating with point solutions. On the downstream side, the solution currently covers procure-to-pay (P2P).

Part 1 of this vendor analysis gives a detailed overview of each module and includes an analyst summary. Part 2 provides more details on the strengths and opportunities of the solution, a review of the competitive landscape and selection tips.

Here’s why we think that MeRLIN Matters:

  • To the market — MeRLIN is an attractive S2P suite offering for the SME to mid market in Europe and America. It provides expertise in supporting coverage of smaller companies giving it a competitive edge in the market.
  • To potential buyers — MeRLIN, despite its young age, covers many S2P processes and does so for both direct and indirect spend. It offers a fully and natively integrated suite that has a modern and configurable UX, representing its opportunity to digitize procurement processes to manage all spend in a single system.
