Jason Busch cooked up the idea for Spend Matters with a friend in a Bay Area coffee shop in 2004.
Jason reasoned at the time — much like today with legacy media — that there was too much opinion masquerading as fact in the technology markets he wanted to cover. Originally a blog for its first five years, Spend Matters made no apologies for being subjective!
As the site grew, the team realized that data-driven analysis based on granular rankings of demonstrated technology capability and customer satisfaction would be far more valuable to the market than even expert opinion, and an entirely new approach to analyzing enterprise technology was born.
