This is the second in a series of short papers outlining the most disruptive supply chain risks and how to avoid them. In this paper we look at reputational risk, that which relates to suppliers, or sub-suppliers, when they act in a way which reflects negatively on the reputation of the customer. This might arise from non-compliance with national or international standards and legislation for example. Risks associated with modern slavery, bribery and human rights have increased with globalisation, and reputational damage can be significant. We look at the consequences and possible mitigation actions.
