Here's a quick recap of events coming up/free papers for you to download if you are interested in doing some real work before diving into our whimsical sense of spend humor.
Some webinars to attend:
Spend Matters UK/Europe's own very knowledgeable and entertaining Peter Smith will be speaking on Sustaining Value: 4 Ways to Build Capability in Your Procurement Team with GEP's Patrick Callahan and Chetan Rangaswamy. Join them on April 11 (next Friday!) from 10-11am Central.
Pierre Mitchell (equally knowledgeable and entertaining, though on a different topic in this case) will be speaking on Trends in Spend Management: Configuration vs. Customization with Paul Noel of Ivalua and Steve Huston of HAVI Global Solutions. This one takes place on April 16 from 12-1pm Central (that's pub/dinner time for UK/Europe, I realize - if you register anyway, we'll know to send you a copy of the recorded event and slides).
Some new papers to download:
As avid Spend Matters readers who never miss a thing, I'm sure you already saw Peter's post about the new paper he's written called Managing Complex Categories – Beware the Complexity of Standardisation!
And Jason Busch talks about his new paper here, called When Sourcing Becomes Supply Chain.
Now for what's really important on a Friday afternoon: jokes and music.
