BravoSolution Real World Sourcing briefing: Procurement Skills and Careers – the Next 10 Years

The next in our BravoSolution Real World Sourcing briefing session is coming soon - September 17th to be precise, at the Don Restaurant in the City of London. The session runs from 11am until around 2pm, including lunch.

The topic this time is Procurement Skills and Careers- the Next 10 Years and I’m leading on this one.

I’ve been thinking hard about this session. It’s not a “technical” subject such as evaluating bids and tenders, or risk management. It’s a lot more judgemental, and of course if we’re going to look at the skills needed in the future, then we need to have a picture of what procurement is going to look like over the next ten years. So there will be some serious discussion about that “future of procurement” question in the session, and that also means it will be genuinely interactive.

Here is a sneak preview of some of the material.

  • Can we categorise all skills into three areas– and is that a useful way of looking at things?
  • what have been the biggest changes in the skills required over the last ten years – and what will be the biggest over the next ten?
  • How will technology change the skills mix we will need over the next few years?
  • Will the role of other stakeholders (colleagues) in the procurement process change – and how will that affect what is needed from procurement?
  • What does this mean for individuals in terms of career plans, continuous professional development

There are just a few places left and you can book here - there is a nominal fee, barely covering the cost of the excellent lunch. And don’t forget you can enter the BravoSolution Real World scholarship competition after the event!
