Coupa’s European Flagship Event Ready To Set Sail

Coupa’s major European event, Inspire'19 EMEA, is set to take place again this year at The O2 InterContinental London hotel from 5th to 7th November (with the 5th being a partner day). It’s an event that gathers about 2300 business spend management professionals from all over the world, and from what we’ve seen at this event over the years it does seem to be growing in popularity, so much so that last year when we arrived for Rob Bernshteyn’s opening address there was barely standing-room-only space left at the back of the room – which was vast (more chairs this year please O2!).

Having said that, Inspire has never disappointed. Coupa like to ‘do’ these events with great fanfare, prestige and animation. Despite its size as a giant in the all-in-one, full suite, business spend management arena, Coupa still likes to show its human face – see video.

Last year we witnessed its many product and company announcements: read here about Risk Aware, Spend Guard and Contingent Workforce, to name but some. And read here about its expanded AWS relationship earlier this year, and here about its partnerships with PayPal, Stripe, TransferMate, and Citi for its pay offering. So we’re excited to hear more about all of this – as it pertains to Europe - we’re sure we’ll have much for our analysts to examine afterwards as we bring you highlights of an event packed with announcements, sessions on Coupa products and EMEA customer deployments, industry topic Q&As, user stories and so on. We’re also expecting a deep-dive into the latest release, R24, innovations across community intelligence, contingent workforce, and the core platform.

While we haven’t yet seen a full agenda, we do know that presentations, breakouts and panel discussion will feature topics such as business spend management transformation, community intelligence, social impact and sustainability, mitigating risk, and scaling for growth, delivered by some of the industry’s leading achievers in these areas. So it’s always good to have the opportunity to ask them questions at the end of their sessions or at networking time in between.

There will be a fair few Spend Matters representatives at the event, Jenny Draper and Michael Lamoureux, and myself, so do come and say hello. Nearer to the event we’ll have had conversations with some of the speakers, to ask them about their topic and why they’ve chosen it at this specific time in procurement’s lifetime, so look out for those articles too in the coming weeks.
