We’ve featured the excellent Future Purchasing Category Management report here previously, titled "Collaborating for Category Management Success - Bridging the Performance and Value Gap".
The report is based on a very extensive global survey of CatMan practice, covering hundreds of leading organisations, and contains not just the findings from the survey but a wealth of good practice advice and really useful content that will help any organisation engaged in the process.
The team at Future Purchasing has now produced an infographic to communicate some of the key findings in the report, in particular the analysis around the benefits that can flow from effective CatMan. Here it is (see below).
Some serious statistical analysis was also carried out on the results, courtesy of Professor Marc Day at Henley Business School, which identified 19 critical factors that really define CatMan success. You can read all about those too in the full report – and you can get the Executive Summary which includes the top 5 practices here, free to download.
