Health Procurement Events Coming Soon – HCSA and NHS Future of Procurement

It’s been arranged at the relatively last minute, but I’m pleased to say I will be leading one of the breakout sessions at next week’s HCSA (Healthcare supplies association) conference in Cardiff on Wednesday. (More details here).

I’m speaking courtesy of Pentax, one of the event sponsors, makers of very fine endoscopes and the very best Endobronchial Ultrasound equipment in the world, I’m told, although I suspect most of us will be delighted if we never have to sample it personally! Thanks to the firm anyway for asking me to do that, and I’ll be talking about “Equipment Procurement in a Climate of Limited Capital Funding” – but I plan to broaden that out a little and look at a range of mechanisms we can use to drive procurement value.

Then on December 12th in Salford, at the AJ Bell Stadium in fact, I’m chairing the “Future of NHS Procurement” event (run by the conference arm of the University of Salford).  The two key strands there will be the impact of technology (procurement related rather than medical, I should say) and the new Future Operating Model for procurement across NHS Trusts, with all its ramifications.

We have a good mix of speakers, including some from the industry side and leaders from within NHS procurement, and couple of panel discussions which I’m chairing and which I’m sure will be lively. The event is free for NHS procurement practitioners, which is another obvious positive!  There’s still time to register here and I look forward to seeing some of our readers there.
