Help a Procurement Student – get your reward in heaven (or from the CIPS President …)

You remember Craig Lardner, CIPS President this year, and his theme to “pay it forward “ – that we should all do something to help someone else in the procurement world? Here are two opportunities today to do your bit to help two Masters students in the profession who are collecting data for their theses.

Sanjeeve Pillai is doing research on e-auctions as part of an MBA dissertation at Birmingham University.

“ My research is to understand the effect of auction parameters on post-auction buyer-supplier relationship. In order to analyse this, I want to use an Online questionnaire targeted at buyers, suppliers and auction platform providers”.

If you can spare a few minutes, it would be great if you can complete this survey; the web-link is here -

Our second appeal is from a gentleman who is looking at the “Relevance of Spend Analysis/Visibility in Strategic Sourcing”. He needs to conduct some interviews (probably Skype) with procurement executives who are responsible for spend analysis in their organization. He would be very grateful for volunteers – if anyone is prepared to give up 30 minutes to help, please email me in the first place at psmith (at), and I will link you up with him.

Many thanks – and remember, your CIPS President will thank you.  By the way, Lardner is doing a remarkable job of getting round CIPS branches and meeting people, particularly for someone based in Australia. As he enters the last quarter of his spell in charge, he is setting the bar very high for future Presidents!
