Procurement at HMV (part 2)

We recently featured Paul Barker, the Procurement Head at HMV (retailers of music and reltaed goods, and owners of major music venues as well), in a series of videos made to communicate the work the firm is doing in the procurement area.

They’re well made and he comes over very well – it’s potentially an interesting way of communicating what you’re doing to internal and external stakeholders. There’s an element of promotion obviously for Wax Digital, whose procurement software HMV are now using, but all in all, a worthwhile initiative and example of a senior procurement person doing something a bit different in the communication field – we're all for that.

So here are some more today. In the first, Barker talks how HMV first used procurement technology and e-sourcing to get to grips with their spend and take the first steps in rationalisation.

In the second, he explains the decision to switch to Wax Digital, and why they chose that firm (ease of use, cost and support).

And finally, examples of e-sourcing success!
