IIAPS procurement events; Professor Cox racks up the air miles!

We've mentioned the International Institute for Advanced Purchasing & Supply (IIAPS) previously; they've now announced a series of 'shared learning roundtable events' through the rest of year, including in Hong Kong next month, Scottsdale Arizona in May and London in June.  Events are free for Advisory Board members but not for others.  For more details see here.

We're planning to interview Profesor Andrew Cox, one of the main men behind IIAPS shortly; the organisation is making good progress, with an impressive client list developing.  Firms who have signed up for programmes include Cathay Pacific, AMEC, PwC, Dell, Rolls-Royce and Volvo Group.

Their educational programme is focused on post-graduate or post-CIPS MCIPS level.  So success would seem to suggest that the profession is moving into a more mature approach to people development, seeing qualifications such as CIPS as a starting point rather than an end point. Anyway, we'll follow up at greater length shortly.
