Icertis Webinar on Wednesday – Why Contract Management Is More Critical Than Procurement

On Wednesday this week at 9am UK time I’ll be participating in a webinar with Icertis, who market a leading contract lifecycle management solution.  Their solution is used by many clients for both buy-side (procurement) and sell-side contracts. The firm is  probably better known in the US than Europe at the moment but is making a real effort to change that.

I’m going to be talking about the importance of contract management, and if you haven’t seen my famous slide that proves contract management is more important than procurement, you are in for a (controversial) treat!  I’ve used that at a few CIPS presentations over the years, always works well in that environment … but the serious point is that you can do a brilliant “procurement” job leading up to a contract being awarded, then see all that great work wasted if the contract is not managed properly.

I’m also going to look at some suggested evaluation criteria if you are choosing a contract management solution. Some might be fairly obvious – cost is clearly one, as is functionality, but there are other points you should consider when you are making that purchasing decision.

We might touch also on a perennially interesting question – the “best of breed” versus suite argument when it comes to procurement software. No easy answers there, but some interesting pros and cons to consider.

There will also be a speaker from Microsoft, both a user of Icertis and a partner in technology terms - Icertis is itself built primarily on top of Microsoft’s Azure technical infrastructure.  Then Martin Mohr of Icertis, the GM in Europe, will get into the product in a bit more detail too. There will also be time for questions and answers within the hour, and we hope it will be informative and stimulating for the audience.

You can register here now – we look forward to joining you on Wednesday.
