NHS Employs Non-Exec Director for Technology and Innovation

NHS Supply Chain today announces that Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL), the management function of the new NHS Supply Chain, has appointed Rob Houghton as non-executive Director for Technology and Innovation. His appointment brings the SCCL Board to its full complement. Jim Spittle, Chair of SCCL, commented, “Rob is a critical thinker who has delivered outstanding business performance and results. His motivational leadership style supports an environment based on honesty, trust and professional integrity, which is extremely important to NHS Supply Chain.”

Workspend Acquires DCR Workforce’s MSP Business

New Jersey-based managed service provider Workspend has acquired DCR Workforce's MSP business. According to the announcement, “by acquiring DCR’s MSP business, Workspend is further accelerating the growth of its MSP and has positioned itself to provide services to an even broader array of industries and geographies.” Read more here.

EMCOR UK Launches New e-Learning Module on Reducing Single-Use Plastics

In collaboration with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, facilities management provider EMCOR UK is launching a new e-Learning module designed to help businesses reduce their use of single use plastics. The free module will help UK businesses to be more sustainable and shares tips on implementing a more environmentally friendly use of plastics. Keith Chanter, CEO, EMCOR UK commented: "The irresponsible use of single use plastics has become one of the most important challenges for our generation to address. While consumer consciousness around wastage is ever increasing, as business leaders, we must look at how we can ensure our organisation and its supply chains are as sustainable as possible so our customers and employees can have the upmost confidence that they are interacting with a responsible business … ” Read more and register here.

Coupa Announces Business Spend Index

Coupa's Business Spend Index (accessible here) is an example of the value delivered by Coupa’s AI-powered Community Intelligence, which is used to deliver prescriptive insights to customers. Community Intelligence has enabled Coupa to analyse spend data in the Coupa BSM platform to measure confidence in economic growth at both the aggregate level and an industry level. Read more here.
