In Case You Missed It … Procurement and Supply Market Roundup

We can't comment on every press release that hits our desks, but here are a few market news stories this week that we thought we should bring to your attention, and some of our own you may have missed - we may have more from our analysts in the coming days  ...

5 tips: So, why do you want to invest in procurement technology? (Part 1)

The first Pro article from our new analysts Magnus Bergfors came out this week. Because the procurement tech market has grown increasingly complex over the past few years, with specialist providers competing with broader suites, Magnus attempts to give recommendations to those considering investing in procurement technology. While this is a subscription piece, some of it may be read on this side of the paywall – see that here.

Why would Medius buy Wax Digital? (Part 4):

Continuing his Nexus brief, Jason Busch moves onto Part 4 of the Medius acquisition of Wax Digital, considering the reasons, implications, and the impact of the Medius / Wax Digital combination on the procurement and ERP vendor landscape. He also explores the strategies that some providers within these groups are already pursuing (or may pursue) in response to customer requirements, competitive pressures and the desire to expand the overall total addressable market for integrated procurement and finance solutions.

SAP Sustainable Procurement Awards

This week we announced the SAP Sustainable Procurement Awards. Launched this month, they are open to public, private and third-sector organisations across most of Europe. The Awards will recognise organisations (not just SAP clients) that are doing great work across the agenda of: diversity in the supply chain; social and community value; climate change-related actions; environmental management (non-climate change); human rights; the technology that can support all or any of these action areas. These are the first purely procurement-related sustainability awards. Read about them here.
