A new issue to add to your supply chain risk register

It's essential to ensure your company, and your key suppliers,  assess and mitigate risks.

  • Are you - and they - prepared for disruption due to natural disasters?  Terrorist activities?
  • What about labour issues - strikes etc?
  • Are you and they following appropriate sustainable procurement policies to avoid reputational risk?
  • Do you have sensible stock-holding policies in place through the supply chain, both raw materials and finished goods?
  • But most importantly -

The BBC reports that Leicester City Council have received a Freedom of Information request:

Can you please let us know what provisions you have in place in the event of a zombie invasion? Having watched several films it is clear that preparation for such an event is poor and one that councils throughout the kingdom must prepare for. Please provide any information you may have.

And I'm sorry to say that Leicester have been forced to admit that they are relatively unprepared for such an event. Disgraceful. So make sure YOUR suppliers have the right plans in place, before it's too late.
