Procurement news – facilities, fluids and football

The new Buying Solutions Facilities Management framework, open to the entire UK public sector, has been announced and eight firms have been successful  in winning a place.  Are there any shock omissions? Well, there is no place for Serco or Trillium on the list which might surprise some. Anyway, with 8 firms listed, running effective 'mini-competitions will be the key to driving value, as is so often the case with these  frameworks.  And of course getting the specification right is always a key 'value driver' in FM contracts as well.

There's another new contract opportunity that has just been published by Thames Valley Police on their eTendering system.  I'm sure many of you will want to consider this opportunity; I know that here at Procurement Excellence we are seriously considering expanding into this exciting service aware.   And it's the sort of work you could probably fit in around the day job, perhaps over your lunch break?  The contract is titled,

"Forensic Body Fluid Examination Service". Lovely!

And finally purchasing of a somewhat different type - why not invest in the last remaining box at Anfield to watch Liverpool this season?  A snip at a mere £55,000 (plus VAT of course).  Procurement Excellence will be calling later to see if they'll take an offer (£37.50 inc. VAT).  Now if it was the Stadium of Light  corse....bargain!
