Public Sector Technology Procurement Symposium

Public Spend Forum hosted the Procurement Technology Symposium last week, in conjunction with the launch of the ProTech Innovation Labs.  They were joined by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and former Presidential Candidate Martin O’Malley and attendees heard from experts and leaders from cities, states, higher education, federal agencies, and private sector to learn about how government can leverage technology to improve purchasing while reducing barriers for tech adoption. The discussions and key takeaways are relevant to all public sector bodies in any region - so watch this space and we'll be bringing you a run down of the case studies presented and give you a link to the presentation slides.

Modernizing Government Technology Through Micropurchasing Authorities And Modular Techniques

In a special episode of the Public Procurement Leaders Podcast, Public Spend Forum spoke to three forward-thinking procurement professionals involved deeply in the technology procurement space. They discussed how micropurchasing adheres to lean and agile principles by reducing the risk of experimentation and forcing project owners to adopt a modular development approach. Micro and modular techniques are a derivation of the “try before you buy” approach to buying IT. There are some good takeaways for all - read more here.
