Snow! Country grinds to halt! And 20 tonnes of chocolate…

Woke up to more snow than I've ever seen in the South of England (about 9 inches here on the Surrey / Hampshire border).

There'll be a lot of people wondering about supply chain risk and robustness this morning, possibly cursing 'just in time' philosophies; and my sympathies to anyone involved in managing the supply of perishable foodstuffs, particularly those that are transported as liquids in insulated but non-heated tankers (e.g. anhydrous milk fat, chocolate even).  2 days in a snowdrift and you have a 20-tonne block of butter or chocolate inside your tanker! (Yes, I do speak from personal experience...)

Good luck if you have to go out and about today.
