Supplier Management Webinars, Incendiary Blog Content – and a music treasure hunt!

We had a great webinar yesterday morning based on a new paper that Thomas Kase wrote about how FMC Technologies has managed to apply spend analysis tactics to supplier performance management. If you'd like to watch the recording, you can do so here.

Speaking of webinars, we have another one coming up next week with Zycus featuring Peter Smith and Jason Busch: Putting Suppliers at the Heart of Procurement.

This week on the blog, things got a bit incendiary:

The whole Spend Matters US team collaborated on Help Wanted: Number One Procurement Vendor To Fill Ariba’s Shoes? From the piece: "Based on the conversations and the notes we’ve traded, the Spend Matters team feels that no one is even close to filling the shoes left by Ariba now that it’s part of SAP." What do you think? Weigh in with a comment...

And Pierre Mitchell, our resident "spend maverick," wrote the following: Maverick Spending is Your Friend: Don’t Chase It, Ride It (there are some juicy responses in the comments - I'll leave it to you to click through and read them!)

I'll leave you this week with a musical treasure hunt! I shared this with Peter earlier this week - can you name the band that samples/covers/references the chorus (1:21 in this video) from this mid-1990's hip-hop jam in their recently released album (hint: Peter liked it very much)?

(Thanks to Kevin M for pointing this out)
