The CIPS SM Awards, Real World Sourcing and cycling heroes

A mid-week update and a couple of reminders for you today.

We’ve got the final few places available here for next week’s Real World Sourcing briefing titled “The Sourcing Revolution- Market Informed Sourcing”.  By the end of it, you will see why this is the most exciting thing in the sourcing world since category management, and why Sciquest just paid $40 million for CombineNet!  We guarantee stimulating discussion, a good lunch and other top professionals to network with. (All for £49!) Book here...

The Real World Sourcing series is sponsored by BravoSolution, who are also supporting the intrepid team of cyclists, including several of our professional colleagues, in their cycle across the Alps from Munich to Venice. They’re into day three now – the second day of cycling -  which is the most gruelling day, almost non-stop climbing – good luck!  Read about progress to date on their website here, and do donate to the good causes they're raising money for.

And of course tonight it is the CIPS Supply Management Awards event at the Grosvenor House Hotel. You can see the shortlist here, and we’ll be reporting on the winners tomorrow. Perhaps. If my hotel wifi works. And as long as I am reasonably sensible tonight.

I probably won’t be Tweeting however because it doesn’t tend to work from the bowels of large hotels in my experience, but I’ll give it a go. I have a few personal favorites of course for the awards of course, but my lips are sealed, so good luck to all the organisations and individuals  involved, although it won’t seem quite the same without David Smith and the Front Covers leading the after-dinner dancing. I promise not to heckle as the “new” band take the stage.
