The Equalities Act, public procurement, and a US view…

My blogging buddy (is that an acceptable term?) Jason Busch at Spend Matters wrote last week about the UK's Equalities Act and the effect it might have on public procurement.  He wasn't altogether positive I have to say...

He's published my response where I've tried to take a balanced view; none of us totally believe in 'free markets' anymore I suspect as we see the bankers we bailed out 12 months ago taking home their million pound bonuses, so why shouldn't government intervene to try and bring social change through public procurement?  On the other hand....'red tape' and bureaucracy?  Read my full piece for more anyway.
