Welcome to ProProcure, our new Spend Matters sponsor

Super observant readers will have spotted another new logo in our Associate Sponsor section over to the right of the page. Yes, we’re delighted to welcome ProProcure to the Spend Matters site.

We featured the firm quite recently, here, where we described their interesting and niche market positioning. They provide cloud-based software that supports the collaborative procurement of marketing and brand related items, mainly for large multi-national corporates. Their growth demonstrates that meeting specific customer needs is still the number one factor in business success – and their product does just that, for a very particular community and requirement.

We’re going to be producing some short briefing papers together, and I’m keen to cover the whole area of marketing services procurement more thoroughly here. It is a growing area I know for many procurement functions, but  (like professional services) one where procurement hasn’t always had a great reputation. However, there have also been positive steps, such as the CIPS Marketing Procurement group which has done some excellent work to bring the marketing and procurement communities together and increase mutual understanding.

ProProcure are also exhibiting at the ProcureCon Marketing event in London on June 10th / 11th. that’s aimed at procurement category people in that spend area, or CPOs for whom this is a major priority, and is the latest specialist event in the ProcureCon stable of conferences, after their financial services and indirect spend events we covered previously. The list of speakers looks pretty impressive, with senior people from Vodafone, Microsoft, Marks and Spencer and others. And we hope to have a more detailed preview of the event shortly.
